Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2026 · Deutsche Fassung (the German version is legally binding)
1. Provider and scope
The Innerstory app is provided by W2B GmbH, Marktstraße 4, 84056 Rottenburg a. d. Laaber, Germany (imprint). These terms govern your use of the app. If you download the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies; on Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
2. Services
Innerstory shows affirmations in story format, reminds you at times you choose and offers a journal. The basic features are free and funded by ads. Further features are unlocked with Premium or the Voice Pack. We keep developing the app and may change features and content as long as the core of what you purchased is preserved.
3. Not a substitute for therapy
Innerstory is meant for self-reflection and personal well-being. The app is not a medical device and does not replace medical, psychological or psychotherapeutic diagnosis, advice or treatment. If anxiety, low mood or worries weigh heavily on you, please contact a doctor or therapist. In an acute crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline.
4. Premium subscriptions
Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription or as a one-time purchase. Subscriptions are charged to your Apple or Google account and renew automatically for the selected period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in the subscription settings of your App Store or Google Play account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. If an offer includes a free trial, the subscription becomes paid when the trial ends unless you cancel beforehand. The prices shown in the store at the time of purchase apply.
5. Voice Pack
The Voice Pack is a one-time purchase, separate from Premium. It lets you record your affirmations in your own voice and play them in your sessions. Recordings are stored only on your device; you are responsible for backing them up.
6. Restoring, refunds and withdrawal
You can unlock purchases again on a new device with the same store account via “Restore purchases”. Refunds and the statutory right of withdrawal for digital content are handled by the respective store under its terms.
7. Your content
Your own affirmations, journal entries and recordings belong to you and stay on your device. We have no access to them. If you delete the app or choose “Reset all data”, this content is lost.
8. Licence
We grant you a simple, non-transferable right to use the app for private purposes. Texts, music, design and software of the app are protected by copyright. You may use and give away printed cards privately but not sell them.
9. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. For loss of locally stored data we are liable only to the extent it would have occurred even with customary backups.
10. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection laws of that country remain unaffected. If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in effect. We may amend these terms for the future if the app or the legal situation changes; we will announce material changes in the app.
